Massage therapists at Metta are all licensed to practice in the state of Maryland. Other bodywork professionals must also be appropriately licensed or certified.
Licensed massage therapists (LMTs, RMPs, & CMTs) with an active license in Maryland and other bodywork professionals are welcome to send a resume and statement of interest to hiring@metta-wellness.com. Minimum requirements are:
Licensure in the state of Maryland is overseen by the Board of Massage Therapy Examiners. Applicants must have completed 750 hours of education at an approved school and pass both a state and national licensing examination. Learn more on the Board's website, or see Metta's FAQ page about massage licensing.
Newly licensed massage therapists with exceptional talent and an interest in co-operative business ownership may apply for Metta's paid apprenticeship program. Apprentices at Metta work closely with more senior therapists as they begin to see clients at a lower "Apprentice" rate. Learn more on our Apprenticeship Page.
As a co-op, we prioritize sourcing our administrative duties internally. This provides cohesion among ownership and also a layer of income security for our bodywork therapists who rely heavily on physical ability to perform bodywork services. At this time, we are not considering outside applicants for any of our admin positions.
We love to explore creative collaborative opportunities! One way we regularly collaborate with others is at our monthly Careshop. Please email info@metta-wellness.com with any ideas, proposals, or questions, and we'll forward your inquiry to the appropriate owner to respond.
