In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made a lot of changes here at Metta. All of these changes have been carefully considered and deemed necessary for everyone’s safety as we return to business.
What we are doing differently:
We will be wearing PPE throughout your appointment. Every therapist will wear a mask at all times, and will don a clean apron or fresh shirt for each appointment. Some therapists may choose to wear a face shield or gloves during the appointment as well. (As always, our hands will be squeaky clean when we touch you!)
We will be checking your temperature when you arrive. Anyone with a temperature over 100.4 will be asked to leave. Our therapists will also take their own temperatures daily, and will leave work if they have a raised temperature. Any cancellations for health concerns will not incur a cancellation fee.
We will be keeping conversation to a minimum before, during, and after your appointment. We know this will be hard for some of us especially after so much time apart. Please know that this doesn’t mean we care about you any less! Less talking means less chance of exposure for everyone. Your therapist may call you before your appointment to catch up, in advance.
We have installed a window AC unit and HEPA air filter in each room to improve air circulation. This will increase filtration and fresh-air turnover throughout the building.
We will be carefully sanitizing all touch surfaces between every appointment. We have installed vinyl covers on every massage table, so that the surface can be thoroughly cleaned between each appointment. Some of our more comfortable furniture has been removed and replaced with furniture that can be more easily sanitized.
We have changed our laundry protocols so that your clean sheets are never exposed to any viral particles before they are placed on the table.
For the time-being, we will not be using any hot stones or hot towels during the session. This policy may change once we are all comfortable and familiar with new procedures.
What you need to do differently:
If possible please download the Vagaro app (our scheduling software) and bring your smartphone to your appointment. Our new allows you to check-in, check-out, and pay for your session on your own device. (If you do not have a smartphone, please let us know in advance.)
You will be asked to fill out a check-in form on Vagaro when you arrive for your appointment. Please be sure to do this before your scheduled appointment time, so we don’t begin late. Please be honest with us about any potential exposure or symptoms you may be experiencing, so that we can keep everyone safe. It is very important for us to know if you have had COVID-19, even if you are fully recovered.
Please do not come into the building until you are notified. Vagaro has a feature to let you know when we are ready. You may also simply wait on the front porch in our outdoor waiting area until your practitioner is ready. This will ensure that we never have too many people in the building at once. Unfortunately, we will no longer be offering teas in the waiting room. If you do not have a smartphone, please let us know in advance so we can work out an alternate way to contact you.
Please wear a mask to your appointment. Everyone in the building will be wearing a mask at all times. (We will have extra masks available, in case you cannot bring your own.)
If you test positive for COVID-19 after your appointment, please contact us! It is very important that we implement our own “contact tracing” to be sure that everyone in our community stays safe.
